Their Circular Life

Circular life, time, photography, seeing an image as the day passes. The subject in the phases of light. Turn the dial, find yourself at midnight at a garbage can in a lonely park, another turn, children play nearby, men walk to some unknown destination. Bringing together time and life into still images. Fascinating.

timebeat

Surreal and gentle, falling into numbers like some passage through which we pass upon death, a code to another side of being. I don't know what to say about this site but that it has excited me, pleased my desire for the visual, the heartbeat and soft sound does not heal, but pulls me into that place where there are no answers, at least for now.

nothing to see here - the ruins of Detroit

This site is astounding. There are places in the world that we don't like to think about; these places come to us in dreams, or, we imagine that they don't exist or fear that they might be real. This work by Jonathan David Walz is unique, buzzing with sound that is as harsh as each environment depicted. This is Detroit, a part of it, a piece of a puzzle that is both social and economic. No ones fault, and somehow it feels as if everyone is to blame.

Photos That Changed the World

This seemed like a lofty title and I sat looking at the pictures for a long time. I agree, they did change me, they are in my mind and will not be expunged. Tragic and triumphant. The power of the image has changed in subtle ways. There are images which I would add, and only one or two I would subtract but most are still, to this day, amazing.
